Python Programming / GIS Workshop
We occasionally hold a GIS with Python programming workshop. In this workshop we will explore how Python scripting can help GIS users in the workplace, how to transition from Model Builder to Python, and how to implement custom Python solutions to puzzling problems. No prior Python scripting experience is required. Please contact us if this is something you would like to attend or organize for your firm.
Learning objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Identify types of GIS tasks that can be automated using python.
Understand basic Python programming syntax, conditionals, and data structures.
Convert a geoprocessing task from Model Builder into a Python script and add customization.
Utilize both the ArcMap Desktop Help and Online Help to gather and apply python solutions for geoprocessing scenarios.
Create Dialog boxes in Arcmap to interface with external Python Scripts.
